The corridor's original anchor: the 163rd Street Shopping Center opened on 1 November 1956 with Burdines and Richard's, was enclosed by 1982, declined after Jordan Marsh closed in 1991, converted to a power centre from 1996, and gained a Walmart Supercenter in 2005 after the 2003 demolition. Its outparcels on the south side of 163rd Street lie in unincorporated county. The May 2026 night market directed visitors to free parking at Walmart.
